According to IANS, the official statement said,

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is between the Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation and Netherlands' Ministry of Infrastructure and Environment.

The Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation has been working to build bilateral cooperation with different countries in the field of water resources management. Given that Netherlands had done some great work in river basin management planning, water quality, delta management, and wastewater recycling, India has decided to sign this MoU with them to benefit from their experience and expertise.

According to Press Information Bureau (PIB), MoU signed between the two envisages both the governments enhancing regional, national, and international level cooperation in the field of water resources management and development. This encourages the governments to collaborate and share their experiences and expertise in the scope mutually agreed upon. This will include techniques pertaining to the efficient use of water resources, decision support systems, wastewater recycle and reuse, and so on, through innovative concession arrangements.

According to IANS, there will be seminars, conferences, study visits, experts’ meeting, capacity-building development programmes, and joint research organised to promote knowledge and expertise exchange. This cooperation will involve training groups’ exchange to further academic and applied research, promote public-private partnerships, and mutual participation or initiation of integral combined projects and programmes.

According to PIB, there will be a group titled Joint Working Group formed to monitor the activities that are going to be carried out to fulfill the MoU.
