CureFit on acquisition spree, acquires Bengaluru-based a1000yoga

0, Mukesh Bansal's and Ankit Nagori’s integrated healthcare and wellness startup, has now acquired yoga centre a1000 yoga. The acquisition comes part of a slew of acquisitions done by recently.

Before it has launched its integrated app, the venture had acquired fitness centres Cult and Tribe, food delivery startup Kristy Kitchens, had launched an HRX workout with Hrithik Roshan, and had Series-A funding of $15 million in a round led by Kalaari Capital, Accel and IDG Ventures.

With this acquisition’s offering in the fitness segment expands to include yoga and moves closer to target of setting up one-of-a-kind holistic fitness training facility in Bengaluru by the end of this year. a1000yoga centres will be re-launched to incorporate the expansive offerings in the portfolio, and a1000yoga clients will also get access to CULT’s workout offerings: zumba, strength and conditioning, yoga.

Commenting on the acquisition, Ankit Nagori, Co-founder, said in a press statement that yoga is rising as one of the favoured wellness choices amongst their key target group.

“This was once thought of as a traditional practice but is now being embraced quickly as a contemporary form of wellness. a1000yoga’s depth of yoga offerings and quality trainers will accentuate CULT’s offerings,” said the statement.

The integrated platform combines offerings of holistic wellness of mind and body through –, and is a subscription-based, nutritive food delivery vertical, while is a membership-oriented workout vertical that caters to consumers through its 10 brick-and-mortar centres along with do-it-yourself exercise app content.

As part of its recent association with Hrithik Roshan, also offers HRX workouts under programme. The third vertical comprises an app-based mental wellness programme that hosts expert-driven stress prevention techniques.

Currently, there are close to 120 fitness startups in India, which have together raised close to $21.2 million as of 2016.
