Getting together on WhatsApp becomes easier; Freshworks secures $100M

Freshworks, a global leader in customer engagement software, has announced that it has secured $100 million in financing. The latest round of funding is co-led by Sequoia and Accel Partners, with participation from CapitalG, bringing Freshworks’ total amount of capital raised to date to $250 million.

New Delhi-based healthcare technology platform MyHealthcare has announced that it has raised $2 million in Series A funding from Hunch Ventures and angel investor Ajay Nanavati. MyHealthcare is owned by Gurugram-based InnoCirc Ventures founded by Shyatto Raha, Aneesh Nair, and Divya LaroyiaThe parent company’s other products are MySchool, MyRetail, and MyVet.


Messaging service WhatsApp on Tuesday announced the launch of a new feature that will allow users to make voice and video calls in a group. The Facebook-owned company had made an announcement to launch this feature back in May at Facebook’s F8 developer conference. According to its blog, WhatsApp said that its users spent over two billion minutes on calls every day. The new group calling feature will allow up to four people to make calls simultaneously - anytime and anywhere.


Started in 2014, and based out of Bengaluru and Hyderabad, Healthtech startup HealthSignz has raised $5 million funding led by Dr Kantilal Patel, the founder of New Zealand’s largest primary healthcare group Nirvana Health Group.

Bengaluru-based healthtech startup HealthPlix raised $3 million from IDG Ventures India and Kalaari Capital in its Series A round. HealthPlix will use the funds to strengthen its technology and expand its team and services in other geographical markets.
