Google launches Cameos; SAP Startup Social comes alive in Bengaluru


Search giant Google has released a new video-based Q&A app called Cameos. On invitation as of now, Cameos lets celebrities record vertical full-screen video answers to commonly searched-for questions about them. Much like Reddit’s AMA sessions, the app lets celebrities choose to record answers as and when they want.

The SAP Startup Social event held in Bengaluru brought key stakeholders such as technology startups, entrepreneurs, investors, tech honchos, and curious employees to a common platform to keep the startup ecosystem buzzing with new ideas fuelled by technology. Flipkart Co-founder Binny Bansal and Peter Vesterbacka, the man behind Angry Birds, offered their insights on their entrepreneurial journey at the event.

Asti Infotech was founded in 2013 by Sunity Choudhary who zeroed in on tracking technologies to solve many daily challenges - the safety of children while travelling in school buses, working women’s safety while commuting, especially late night, or keeping track of the salesforce on the field.

Bengaluru-based Rentprop4u is a property management and rental solution platform for landlords and tenants. The startup promotes the property to find the right tenants as per the requirements of the owner. It also does the screening of the tenants and the platform also provides assured rent to owners.

Magic Crate founders Viswanathan R and Karthik Lakshman found that engaging their toddlers productively at home while juggling work was not a child’s play. The duo decided on exploring the ed-tech space and launched Magic Crate with the idea of making learning fun. The founders say that their focus on age-specific and design-led products help in a child’s overall development.
