Almost everyone knows Alexa, the voice service that powers millions of Amazon devices, including Amazon Echo, Echo Dot and Echo Spot. Amazon's virtual personal assistant has been around for approximately two years, and only keeps getting smarter by the day.

Alexa brings an array of useful capabilities in the form of skills, from playing music to forecasting the weather to answering questions. Many organisations have built Alexa skills that has enabled designers, developers and brands to contribute to the experience. Amazon wants to recognise such companies or individuals with the Alexa Awards on December 13, 2018 at ITC Gardenia, Bengaluru. Amazon’s Alexa Awards will honour the people and organisations who are doing amazing work with Alexa Skills. Winners will get to take home technical advisory from Alexa experts, AWS credits basis eligibility and exciting Amazon devices.

You can apply for the awards if you have:

• developed engaging Alexa skills for Indian customers - individually or for a brand
• contributed to community evangelism by conducting Alexa skills workshops, resolving fellow developers’ queries and more

There are various categories of awards that you can apply for. You can choose a maximum of two categories from the following:

• Alexa Community Influencer of the year
• Alexa Star Developer of the year
• Alexa Innovator of the year
• Alexa Agency of the year
• Alexa Popular Brand Partner of the year

Hi Alexa, what are the judging parameters?

The entries will be judged across multiple parameters which may vary for each category. These include the number of skills published, skills rating, number of customers you have engaged, community engagement, Alexa features used and Alexa voice design and positioning.

The finalists will be selected basis a jury review by eminent leaders from Alexa team and program partners as well as AI experts from the industry.

Hi Alexa, when is the final pitch date?

Finalists will pitch to a jury during the grand finale on Thursday, 13 December 2018 and the winners will be chosen and announced on the same day.
