After much back and forth, Union Commerce and Industry Minister, Suresh Prabhu said that the Centre will soon be rolling out a new ecommerce policy. Expected to favour both companies and consumers, the policy will come with a special highlight on domestic ecommerce. While the government reworks on the proposed draft, the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has been pushing for an exclusive marketplace portal for themselves.

November funding finally shows some signs of life

After a mostly slow month, this week was marginally better in terms for raising funding for the Indian startup ecosystem. Startups raised a total of $65.67 million in equity funding across nine deals, up from last week's $15 million. In addition, startups also raised a total of $12 million in debt funding across two deals.
