Walmart Labs makes second acqui-hire in India with AI startup


The team of will be part of health and wellness portfolio under customer technology of Walmart Labs as the retail giant leverages the premium talent pool in India.

Walmart Labs has announced its second acqui-hire in India by taking into its fold the key team of, an AI startup founded in 2016. Earlier, in September this year, Walmart Labs had acqui-hired Appsfly.

According to a press release from Walmart Labs, the team of engineers from will be joining them and be part of the health and wellness portfolio under customer technology.

A statement by co-founders Vinay Kumar NP and Praneeth Doguparthy said, “We started in the beginning of 2016 with an ambitious mission to build an AI powered personal data analyst for every business executive. In the process, we developed expertise in blending machine learning with data analytics to uncover insights that significantly impact business metrics. We also developed a reliable enterprise data platform.”

Data analytics and science is a key area of focus for Walmart in developing solutions and supporting large scale businesses. According to Walmart Labs, in its efforts to build an ecosystem of premium technology talent, it has been closely engaging with the startup and entrepreneurial community.
