Basic Information
"Down Dog provides a studio-like experience, offering a set of customised sessions that ensure that no two yoga turns are the same. Down Dog was started by two developers, Ben Simon and Carlos Ormachea. This app focuses on modern Vinyasa yoga, a style of yoga characterised by stringing postures together so that you move from one to the other seamlessly, using one’s breath. This is also known as ‘flow’ yoga. The company is currently working hand in hand with teachers, schools, and communities to provide educational materials designed for students of all ages and looks forward to working with more organizations to foster free access to health and wellness through its set of apps. It's free to download (on both iOS and Android). Rather than choosing from a bunch of pre-recorded videos, Down Dog has over 60,000 configurations of sessions that it mixes up for the user each time. All one has to do is fill out their preferences and hit start. In March 2020, Down Dog announced that it is offering free and total access to all its health and fitness apps to students and teachers until July 1, 2020.
