Forus Health is a medical technology start up founded in 2010 by a group of engineers with the goal to eradicate avoidable blindness.
Basic Information
Forus Health is behind 3Nethra, a portable device that can screen common eye problems that can lead to blindness. Forus Health now has its retinal imaging screening devices in more than 20 countries and has already touched more than two million patients. Microsoft has integrated AI-based retinal imaging APIs into Forus Health’s 3Nethra devices using Microsoft Azure IoT Suite and Azure IOT Edge, which delivers the cloud intelligence locally and closer to the eye. This enables operators of 3Nethra device to get AI-powered insights even when they are working at eye checkup camps in remote areas with no or intermittent connectivity to the cloud. Their second product named 3nethra neo is a compact, portable, and easy-to-use mydriatic wide-field digital imaging camera used for the photo documentation of ocular diseases that manifest in human eyes. Their third product named 3nethra flora is a mydriatic and non-contact device that captures fluorescein angiography and posterior surface images of the human eye. It is capable of effectively imaging and monitoring a broad range of eye disorders.
