Godaam is an early stage initiative working in agritech setup which envisions to empower farmers to take informed decisions and improve their livelihood.
"Nashik, Maharashtra based Godaam is an early stage initiative trying to convert traditional onion warehouses into smart warehouses to reduce crop wastage. It implements IoT based monitoring solution that analyzes and communicates the health status of onion stock in real time. They are there to extend their care and support to their agricultural heroes by providing them important information about their onion stocks which enables them to take informed decision. They are using following steps to help farmers with their IoT Innovations: They first identify the farmers with a warehouse and retrofit the warehouse to improve ventilation and enable optimal climatic conditions. Then they install the IoT devices in different partitions for easy distinction. Rotting is identified as early as 4% in a particular partition using their installed devices and the data is collected at a central system depending on predetermined thresholds. As the rotting begins in the warehouses, the emitted gases are analyzed by the devices and the micro-climatic conditions of the ware houses are monitored. Timely alerts are sent to the farmers to prompt beneficial action so that the farmer can either remove the rotten onions to prevent further spoilage or sell the crop as soon as possible, ultimately helping the farmers making the right decisions. Through their process, they claim, they can reduce the wastage for farmers by 20%-25%.
