Founded in 2021, Jharkhand Angels, HQ-ed in Ranchi, aims to identify startup opportunities in non-metro India or “Bharat”, and incubate, fund, and accelerate them. The startups it focuses on are ones that:
Solve the problems of Bharat
Have a regional focus (for example enterprises that focus on arts/culture/food of a specific region)
Serve underserved communities in India.
JA has invested in startups from across India, such as in Chattisgarh, Bihar, West Bengal, Maharashtra, MP, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. Average ticket size is Rs 20-Rs 50 lakh. Portfolio companies include The Playbook, a social learning startup, online doctor consultation platform ZiffyTech, discount hunting company Fydo, etc.
