Bengaluru, Karnataka based Thinkerbell Labs aims to solve pressing social problems using cutting edge technology. Thinkerbell Labs (previously Project Mudra) started as an independent research project at BITS Pilani Goa Campus and the idea was given birth by the co-founders Sanskriti Dawle and Aman Srivastava, Dilip Ramesh and Saif Shaikh . Their flagship innovation – Annie - is the world’s first Braille literacy device that helps visually impaired people learn to read, write, and type in Braille on their own in any medium of instruction. Annie enables a student to self-learn to type and read in braille. Through the companion app parents and QTVIs can monitor real time progress of the student, schedule tests and home work. Local authorities can evaluate, analyze, compare and remedy a group of students through Annie’s cloud platform. The tactile hardware modules tailored to teach, coupled with a soft human voice guiding students through lessons eliminates the need for handholding and constant supervision. Annie constantly evaluates answers given by the students instantly and gives smart corrective feedback. Annie’s salient features: Connected - Can be monitored easily. Enables special educators to focus on multiple students at the same time; Inclusive - Equips parents and regular teachers to cater to a child with special needs. Can be put into mainstream schools; Human - Friendly human voice guides students in their local language, thus making learning more efficient; Smart - Gives instantaneous feedback for mistakes and continuously evaluates user; Innovative - Patent pending device which has all the hardware modules tailored to teach Braille; Gamified - Interactive premium content designed by curriculum experts.
