Basic Information
Ubuntu Consortium is a consortium of 24 women entrepreneur association members spread over five states which support more than 13,000 women entrepreneurs. They provide the support to women self-help groups, Mahila Mandal as well as women groups at the district and grass root level to help support their members grow. It also intends to have a holistic approach towards development of women tackling major concerns like health, education, security, financial support under one umbrella. The consortium has signed an MoU with Global Alliance for Mass Entrepreneurship (GAME) to help women entrepreneurship grow in the country. During COVID-19, in association with the United Nations Development Programme, Karnataka, Ubuntu led a project named ‘Covid-19 Udyog Sahayavani’ and set up an MSME Udyog Sahayavani help desk for a period of six months.
