Basic Information
Vision Earthcare is a green tech startup working in the area of wastewater management. It was founded in 2004 by HS Shankar (a professor at IIT-B’s Department of Chemical Engineering) and his daughter Malini Balaji. The startup has developed a sustainable bio purification engine which turns sewage into potable water. Its clients include the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), Godrej Group, ITC, Taj Hotels, Jindal Steel, and more. VEC has used the unique power of soil for waste recycling called Soil Bio Technology ® marketed under the brand CAMUS ®-SBT ® (Continuous Aerobic Multistage System using Soil Bio Technology). Soil Bio Technology ® has proven track record to treat sewage (domestic wastewater) and other industrial waste water effectively and economically with over 150 (~100MLD) CSBT type Sewage and Effluent Treatment Plants (ETP/STPs) have been installed across India over the last 20 years.
