Yourstory is everybody's favourite section. For all the design professionals out here, who love experimenting new trends in our projects, There are lot of manmade or artificial substitutes of wood available for architectural applications but sometimes a unique project calls for natural, solid wood boards.
Today let us take some time out to review this product called "Thermory" which is a 100% natural wood maufactured in Europe. This wood is best known for its durability which lasts upto 60years. It is fire resistant, water resistant & also free from any damage caused by insects. This wood is a boon to architecture world.
This product was developed in Europe more than 15 years ago each board is treated with steam and heated at a high temperature using computer controlled system.
Under this process, wood is treated by reducing the moisture content to 6% thereby stabilizing & binding the cellular structure of fibres present in the wood. It protects the wood from warping or shifting because of the moisture content.
This results in excellent durability in the wooden boards by offering them resistance against rots and damage by insects for a long period of 60 years. One of the best feature of this product is its weight. Trust me its is really very very light in weight. Lighter than your Mobile phone. Yes! You dont believe me yet??? you can call for a sample & check.
These wooden boards are absolutely beautiful, (check the pictures attached). The heating process results in darkenening of the wood colour to a deep and rich exotic brown that can be preserved by treating with a UV-protecting oil, or left to weather to a cool silvery grey, depending on your choice
so now your next question would be about its application right?? You must be wondering where all can this product be used?. You can use these wooden boards for multiple purposes right from making doors, to building pergolas, cladding your bungalows, buildings, hotels or farm houses, laying a deck for the swimming pool or constructing beautiful pergolas which can support planters. Installation also gets easier as being light in weight the installer doesnt have to break his back & neck moving around to lift the wooden board.
It is light in weight yet a lot more stronger than the regular cedar. It comes with a Joint-End-Matched system, which allows the ends of the deck boards to lock with one another without needing to rest on a support joint. It allows us to save a lot of time in construction and also reduces wastage upto a greater extent.
The best part of the story is these boards are eco friendly since the process doesn't use any harsh chemical. These boards are made from Ashwood, oak & pine.
Please do give a try & consider this product for your next big project which requires wood for flooring, decking or wall cladding etc. Dont hesitate to try on new materials for creating the best outcome.
