A fight against suicidal thoughts

Over the years the suicide rate in India increased from 7.9 percent to 10.3 percent with about 1,35,000 people committing suicide every year. This number includes everybody from eighth grade to high school senior, from college going kids to young, budding entrepreneurs and for reasons that we may never know. But the surprising part is that despite such tragic statistics not many of us know what to do about it.

Youth these days are more vulnerable to stress. But are they do blame? With our system getting competitive each and every day it is bound to happen. Every individual goes through their own ups and downs be it in their college, work or family. Youth today can be hard to figure out as they like their privacy. It really saddens me to see such a state of the youth of the country.

What is to be understood here, that yes life can be difficult at times, but suicide is not and never a way out. I know it's easier said than done but whenever you feel like suicide is the only option left with you, just take a moment and think what and why are you giving up your life for. Is that reason so big enough that you cannot fight it? And I'm sure if you did ask yourself this question, that answer will give you strength.

Have you ever thought that wouldn't it be awesome if we lived in a world where we can forgive as quickly as we choose? Wouldn't it be great if we lived in a world where we stop judging people from the 5% we think we know about them, wouldn't it be great if we hugged more and judged less?

As we go living, searching for meaning and understanding we all are looking for direction in life we all are trying to figure out who we are. And amidst this journey, we go through constantly comparing ourselves and building ourselves by letting people down. And the reason behind us doing that is we want to show that was better than other.

It is just a simple thing to understand that all that we have been through, its a part of the journey of our life. Whatever be the journey, what you don't understand is that this journey we are on is going to make you a more compassionate person, a much stronger person. What I want to emphasize is on that our life is not about then, our life is about now. And if you cannot appreciate now then you will never be grateful for what 'then' will be all about.

Suicide or the thought of doing self-harm to yourself is not okay. And when you get to that point of depression and sadness, disappointment you need to go ask for help. You need to lose the ego and open your heart and find people in your life that you can trust, that you can respect. People whose opinions you value and those who you will never be afraid to go to in difficult times. And once you do this you will see life opening doors for you that you never thought existed in the first place.
