To any outsider i may seem like a struggling working mom who has a passion for entrepreneurship but its far from the truth.

I am a single mom of a hyperactive two year old toddler. My husband left us when my son was barely 3 month old, at that time all i had was a preparatory school run by my mom which was not even able to break even.

I was devastated, depressed, even tried to kill myself but thankfully i had support of my father who showed endless confidence in me.

Things were not easy since i was living alone taking care of my infant son then, i applied at numerous places for teaching jobs since i have an excellent academic career m.b.a. also a phd.i even got a lectureship in an esteemed college in pune but then it stuck me, i was not willing to send my son in a daycare.

I came back to allahabad and started concentrating on my school which started doing good gradually as i introduced many new teaching methods.

By now i saw many women who were also in similar circumstances, they too needed help.I started visiting government offices for trying to know about schemes so that i can start a business and employ them as well.

I came to know about PMEG. I applied for it and after a long battle and protests at gov offices i got all the licences without giving a single penny as bribe.

And hence “Dadi ki rasoi” spices came into existence.we have an all women staff.most of the girls here have a history of domestic abuse.many of them are allowed here only because its an all women venture.

Today i have a staff of around 15 people both my ventures are working out great and i am planning some new ones too since now i have a lot of women in need who have sought help from me.

These two years have taught me a lot, and i am taking in those lessons and trying to grow.each day is struggle for me, as a single mum and an entrepreneur, but i feel i will make it till the end.
