Chai - that make a Difference

BeatRoute Foundation spearhead's Project Chai

When Mumbai is dancing to the tunes of DJ's this Ganesh Chaturthi, there is someone trying to help at the backend.

BeatRoute Foundation, an NGO that works for Needy and Rural children's skill and artistic development recently undertook a thoughtful initiative lead by one its members. A novel way to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi.

Where people celebrate this festival by visiting various decorated pandals, this small team of BeatRoute Foundation, which consists of people volunteering their time and skills from different careers decided to celebrate it by serving tea to the policemen in and around Girgaum Chowpatty.

Prashant Salgaonkar, the member who spearheaded this idea said, "We wanted to give back something to the people who work tirelessly for the society. We decided to serve tea to the policeman and the helpers in and around Girgaum Chowpatty as most of them are posted in that area on the 5th day of Ganpati Immersion."

Rahul Nair, who is one of the founder members of BeatRoute Foundation added, "We  work on developing artistic skills and career goals for the children who are needy as well as who are deserving. This Ganesh Utsav we decided to do something helpful and so we came up with this idea of serving tea. It was the least that we could do to appreciate and encourage these men and women who serve people and stand guard all day long, without a complaint for these 10 days".

We hope that this beautiful initiative encourages more youth to come forward and serve society in any possible way. - small or big.
