At some point in time, a 9-5 job brings monotony. However, if it is reoccurring then you need to think twice. Perhaps it isn’t just the Monday morning blues or weekend hangovers that are making your office miserable. Perhaps, there is more.

When is the correct time to realise that there is growth for you in the organisation and that it is best to switch?

How do you realise that you are too good to be in the organisation?

Read on –

1. There is no appreciation – Appreciating is vital to boost your morale. However, in case you find that your organisation is putting zero efforts in recognising your work irrespective of how small or big the contribution is – it is a safe bet to switch.

2. Lacking of guidance – We all need someone to guide us. If you find yourself left on your own especially at the beginning of your career then you better, consider switching. In the initial years of your career, working under someone helps in improvising your work and pave the path of progress. Without guidance, it would be tough for you to recognise your strengths and polish your weakness.

3. Disorganisation and disorientation – Nothing can be thought straight if the company is unstable. Instability evokes numerous issues, which can hamper your work. If your find yourself in such company wherein disorganisation is at its peak, I believe you need to move as early as you could.

4. Work pressure is nil – In certain occasions work pressure is important after all that is the only thing that differentiates your home from the office. Of course, I do not advocate any work pressure that harasses your mental health. Nevertheless, I am in the support of work pressure that makes you discover your capabilities and aids you in honing your skills sharply. A place where you do not witness work pressure is underestimating your capability. It is advisable to move.

5. Innovation is not consideredThe growth of any organisation majorly depends upon its attitude towards innovation. If your find yourself trapped in the workspace where innovation is a distant dream; where ideas are not welcomed; it is better to choose something else.

6. Personal growth is questionable – There are times when you would realise that there is a number of things left unexplored inside you. Perhaps you wish to push your limits a little more and achieve the unachievable. In case, you conclude that your organisation hardly caters to your personal growth, it is best to let it go. At the end, your personal matters the most.

In this competitive scenario, I understand that risk of leaving your job holds. However, sometimes it is best to take this risk. Always remember ‘Comfort is a place where nothing really grows’ – If you find yourself under similar circumstance, take that leap of faith.
