India is a country that always shows ‘unity in diversity’. Being the second largest nation in terms of population, India is the home for people following different religions, linguistic diversities, variety of cultures and much more. Diwali is the king of all the festivals in India because it is celebrated in all the parts of the country and highest amount of population in the country as well.

We can come across many examples of communal harmony during the celebration of various religious festivals. Hindus distribute sweets among their Muslim neighbors and friends during Diwali and similarly, Muslims share their traditional delicacies prepared in their homes on the occasion of Ramzan Eid.

Distributing gifts on Diwali among close people is very old tradition that is still followed in the new generations by presenting Diwali gift items.

· Small Kitchen Appliances: This can be a great Diwali gift item as the homemaker would feel special as some of her tasks in the kitchen would be simplified because of the gift. Assisting homemakers in making their work easier would be the best way to greet close relatives and other families. Women always admire smaller items such as knife sets, crockery, dinner sets, juice sets and some smaller appliances such as food processors, blending machines. We can list out the people we plan to gift this Diwali and list out some useful items in the kitchen that can be gift wrapped and presented on Diwali. We can choose a single item and order it in bulk quantity or else we can choose different gift items for different people we plan to gift.

The Kitchen is the heart of every household and the process of preparing and serving delicious food to all the family members is carried out restlessly in the kitchens. By gifting some useful item in the kitchen on the occasion of Diwali, we would indirectly express our respect for the mother of the family.

Idols or Images of Gods: Diwali has a religious inclination as there would be worship of Gods on various occasions during the season. Idols or in images of Lord Ganesh, Goddess Laxmi or Goddess Saraswati would be most suitable and most appreciable Diwali gift items. The recipient would be proud to receive these unique religious Diwali gifts, as they can start worshiping these idols during Diwali. Lord Ganesh is worshiped at the beginning of every religious ceremony and that is why a small idol of Ganesh would be practically very useful in the household.

Similarly, Goddess Laxmi is supposed to be the goddess of wealth, and in the no moon day (Amavasya), every household and business or office performs worship of goddess Laxmi traditionally. An idol or image of Goddess Laxmi would be useful for the recipient. There is a special religious importance for the Goddess Laxmi sitting on the lotus with two white elephants saluting her standing on both her sides. So, particular picture frame of Goddess Laxmi could be a memorable Diwali gift.
