In furniture industry one of the biggest challenge is with delivery timelines. Currently, most of the offline/retail outlets are able to deliver in 3-5days for most of the products they have on display. However, when it comes to online deliveries for most products take upto 7 weeks. At teakandwalnut.com, customers have the option to choose between faster delivery which is through option “Get it Now” and a regular delivery which is “Get it Made”.

With “Get it Now” the delivery and installation will be done within 3-5 days of placing an order. With Get it Now most products get delivered from our existing warehouse and inventory. Whereas with “Get it Made” customers will have to wait for about 3-4 weeks for the delivery.

The next big challenge is the production timelines. We are trying to address this with our "Get it Made" concept. Quite obviously “Get it Made” comes with a cost advantage for cost conscious buyers. With “Get it Made” there will be savings of up-to 20%. Well “Get it Made” doesn’t mean its “Custom Made”, these are just two options of how and when you want your product to be delivered. In “Get it Made” we accumulate orders and put them into batch production thereby reducing the overall manufacturing cost, we avoid the warehousing cost and we get the product delivered directly to the customers address. This gives us time do to much more accurate demand forecasting, the product costing is much controlled, we are able to give a better clarity to the manufacturing partners with regards to the requirement & demand. The cost advantage is also passed on to the customer.
