Brief intro-

– I’m Kalyani Potekar from central part of India ; a small city known as Dewas. I have been into biking since the age of 18 and have turned 24 now. I own a Triumph Street Triple. Recently, I Represented FMSCI (Federation of Motorsports club of India) at FIM Asia Cup of Road Racing 2017 (Round 2) at Penbay International Circuit , Taiwan and finished 3rd. Also , I participated in the MRF and Honda National Championships and got many trophies. Apart from this, I have represented central India in many equestrian championships. Also I have a passion for photography and adventures. Taking about adventure, I successfully pursued training of paragliding, skiing and mountaineering.

What prompted me to get into biking -

My journey began at a very tender age when I was a month’s baby and my dad used to take me in the cradle on the track which later on got converted to accompanying him along in his motocross races. I have seen him battling out in dirt and that’s what motivated me the most. He is a true inspiration for me.

Highlights-

1.Represented FMSCI (Federation of Motorsports club of India) at FIM Asia Cup of Road Racing 2017 in Thailand and Taiwan.

2. First position in Honda One Make Championship ,Madras Motor Race track- Sep 2017

3. Second position in MRF National Championship (165 cc category) at Madras Motor Race track- July2017

4. First position in Formula junior Racing series at Kari Motorsport Speedway, Coimbatore in May 2017

5. Participated in Valley Run 2017 in Pune and secured 11th rank in the 600-800cc category. A pretty satisfying result as it was a first time for me. Followed by a similar event in Indore; Malwa Drag Race where I secured 1st place in the same category– May 2017

6. BIKERGIRLS OF INDORE –I formed this group in 2016 with an initiative to encourage more girls in the field of biking from Indore and nearby areas.

7. First in bike category Malwa Sprint organized by Malwa Motorsports Club of Indore- Sep 2015

8.Participated in reality show organized by Ceat and MTV “Chase The Monsoon Season3”and covered more than 3,500kms on bike from Jaiselmer to Kathmandu in 24 days. Aug-Sep 2015

9.Participated in world’s second toughest rally i.e. Maruti Suzuki Raid De Himalaya when I was in the third year of my college (20yr old). 2013

10. Awarded Best Rider Girls trophy by Directorate General NCC Lieutenant General R.K. Karwal in Republic Day Camp, New Delhi- Jan 2011

Message for biker enthusiast- Be safe. Roads are meant for destinations. If you want see a racer in you, hit the track. Satisfaction which you get on a track is unmatched .For the girls, I would say never get influenced. There is a new world awaiting. Put the gears on and hit the track. It’s now or never. And yes, Safety is a major role when you start your bike engines. Always make sure to wear proper safety gears. Safety begins from home! RIDE hard Ride SAFE!
