Manually Convert OST to PST 

MS Outlook- The most efficient email application stores data in two files. It has two data files OST and PST. These files save all user files from mails, contacts, messages, notes, tasks and other data. if we are switching to a new account then we need to convert .ost to .pst format.

PST is personal Storage Table that is linked with user’s account and it has all the data while OST is offline Storage Table. As it names it stores the data in local system so that user can read mails in offline mode. The data get synchronized when connected with internet.

There are many methods to convert OST to PST depending upon the amount of data.

Method 1: Send via mail

This method can be used when data is less and you want to carry only specific files with yourselves. If the organization allows you can send it to personal mail and then retrieve it from there.

• Right click on the files you want to send.

• Select save as Outlook format and compress the files

• Send Zip folder to your Outlook mail.

• This will move the data to new Outlook pst file

Method 2: Create a New PST file

You can also move the data by creating a new pst file.

• Open Outlook and Go to Menu

• Click on File >>Account settings

• Click on New, the New PST file will be created

Now select data from OST which you want to carry and paste it to this newly created PST file.
