Five tools to help you automate online marketing

Economist Adam Smith once said that productivity was the key to wealth. Whether we talk about a nation or an individual, getting better results with less work is always going to lead to more profits.

That’s why it makes sense to automate a certain aspect of your business. If you own a factory, you could probably get a robot to churn out twice as much product. And if you offer services online, you can automate your marketing strategy.

Here are some of the best tools that can help you automate the online marketing for your business:

1. Hubspot

Hubspot literally started the automated marketing revolution back in 2006. They turned the world upside down when they made it possible for companies to break away from traditional marketing (outbound calls and newspaper ads) to inbound marketing (content creation, client discovery). I’ve mentioned this tool on the top this list, because you could probably use it to automate most aspects of your marketing and get great results.

2. Pardot

Pardot got its start a year after Hubspot. They were eventually acquired by Salesforce and now offer CRM, email management and lead generation. The interface is really easy to use and the software is incredibly useful when you want to reach out to more potential client and measure your return on investment.

3. Leadsuis

Leadsuis started off small and eventually grew larger than expected. The company is based in Sweden and targeted companies that had between 1 and 10 employees. Considering the local market in Scandinavia, that seemed appropriate. Now, after 5 years, the company helps big brands like Samsung and Ducati manage their online marketing. They’re still devoted to their small and medium sized clients, however, which is front and center on their homepage.

4. Sales Autopilot

Hungary-based Sales Autopilot is the best option if you run a really small business and need help with email marketing. Their services are free as long as you send less than 400 emails a month. Even the starter and pro packages they offer are not too expensive.

5. Act-On

Act On frequently gets some great reviews from small and medium-sized businesses that use it. The service lets you tie up outbound and inbound marketing. Add to that a great way to nurture leads and you have a tool that will let you maximize every penny you drop into the marketing budget.

This list is, by no means, definitive. There are hundreds of tools that will let you automate your marketing online and get great results. Some are more expensive or have fewer features, but you may have to shop around to see what suits your business best.

One thing’s for certain - more than half of all businesses are now using marketing automation to drive sales online. Soon, automation will be the only way to market online. It’s best to get ahead of the game and start now.
