The solar charkha project, a pet project of Minister of State for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Giriraj Singh is gaining momentum. It has received a lot of interest from big fashion brands like W, Aurelia, and even Raymonds. According to Abhishek Pathak, CEO of the Green Wear project, they have 21 training centres across the country and have trained 3500 women to become self-reliant by operating their own charkhas and looms that run on solar and wind energy.
