Since the launch of the revamped Incredible India website by the tourism ministry on June 14, 2018, 1.60 million visitors have visited the website so far.
As on August 2, the 1.60 million website visitors have engaged in the immersive experience of India’s spectacular heritage, festivity, spirituality, museums, and adventure.
The composition of website traffic from top five countries are: Russia (19%), India (12%), UK (10%), US (9%), and Italy (6%).
In a written reply in Rajya Sabha yesterday, Minister of State (I/C) for Tourism KJ Alphons said that the website showcases India as a holistic destination, revolving around major experiences such as spirituality, heritage, adventure, culture, yoga, wellness, and more. The website follows the trends and technologies of international standards, that aims to project India as a “must-visit” destination, among its overseas travellers.
The new site now allows the tourism ministry to engage effectively with visitors across social media channels and measure engagement to deliver real-time personalised experiences for each visitor, based on their interest and travel persona.
The website is fully responsive with mobile devices, making it easy to navigate on a wide range of web browsers and portable devices.
This is a great opportunities for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the travel sector. In the 2017, India was at the 40th position as compared to the 52nd position in 2015 and 65th in 2013.
Besides foreign tourists, more and more Indians are travelling around the country what with a big push seen in solo women travellers and rise in specialised travel activities like adventure sports and so on.
