ExamsGuru- An Online Classroom Trying To make Headway Via Tier 2,3 Colleges

Education in India is huge and is touted to be the next big thing and pretty understandably so. A huge population, grappling problems of illiteracy, and an increasing internet penetration all suggest that something should be done in the online education space. And so they are doing. There are a multitude of startups coming up and we came across more than 200 during our Edustars campaign in association with Accel Partners.

Here is one more such startup, ExamsGuru that is trying to solve the problem but are again heading the tough path- creating content and selling to schools. These are two very tough nuts to crack. Founded by Prateek Bhowmick and Rahul Jain in 2009, ExamsGuru aims to be the one stop solution for students, learner, colleges, schools, Institutes, Tutors & job-seekers. What do they have to offer for students & learner?

• Question papers with solutions, Test-Series, Live session with Ex-Professors, Teachers or experts on weekly basis
• Students profile and portfolio maintain and follow-up meter to guide, motivate and helps to students to target his ambition for preparing and successful for exams.
• QNA (ask question and give answer) & post or submit articles.
• E-Videos to help, how to prepare for examinations uploaded by teachers and professionals
• Colleges, schools, coaching institutes & tutors information.
• Online eye-test conduct & I.Q. and stress management games.

Based in Delhi, ExamsGuru is a 9 member team and are looking to expand. Talking about traction, Prateek informs us, "We have tie-ups with 12-14 Large cap education Institutes, 4-5 colleges, 2 schools & 45 tutors within last one year and these are from tier 2 & tier 3 cities."
