[Photo Sparks] Launchpad and battleground: outdoor ads for startups!

[Photo Sparks] Launchpad and battleground: outdoor ads for startups!

Saturday October 04, 2014 , 2 min Read

In the earlier 20 posts, we brought you creative photographs from an art fair, music festival, telecom expo, art museum, mobile showcase, math museum, social hackathon, bookstore, co-working space, sensorium, lantern festival, computer museum and startup T-shirts. In this photo essay, we showcase outdoor ads of startups. Make YourStory’s PhotoSparks your regular source of photographs that celebrate creativity and innovation!

In the earlier post, we looked at outdoor ads of companies such as Quikr. Outdoor ads are not just launchpads for boot-strapped startups (eg. mGaadi), but battlegrounds for homegrown e-tailers (Flipkart) against global giants (Amazon), as these ads below show. Outdoor installations can even be used during events to build a viral online bridge via Twitter hashtags and selfies, as the example of the three year-old Bangalore Literature Festival shows: imagine if this installation could be displayed and photographed in a number of locations around the city to create a viral photo effect as event build-up!

Outdoor ads can be used to promote not just your product but its new features and channels, such as ClearTrip’s travel app. Olx, Junglee, BigBasket, TravelYaari and Jabong are some of a wide range of emerging players tapping outdoor ads to reach the mass market. So what would your outdoor ad look like?  :-)
