Timesaverz, an Uber for home services, secures angel funding to expand across multiple cities

Timesaverz, an Uber for home services, secures angel funding to expand across multiple cities

Tuesday October 14, 2014 , 3 min Read

A GSF alumni, Timesaverz, a mobile first marketplace connecting home service seekers with home service providers has raised a seed round of funding from a group of angels including Neville Taraporewalla, and Rajesh Sawhney, Ashish Jhalani (Founder at eTailing India), Nitesh Kripalani (ex-Digital Business Head at Sony Entertainment), Dinesh Agarwal (Founder of Indiamart) and Nish Bhutani (COO of Saffronart).

This ‘uberification of services’ might seem to be a very new concept in India but this genre of business has seen some robust funding in the developed markets in the likes of Thumbtack, Handy and Taskrabbit.

Debadutta Upadhyaya and Lovnish Bhatia started TimeSaverz in April 2013 and have expanded to a strong network of 500 plus service partners over the last 15 months of operations. The team would be using this round of funding to scale and expand their operations across multiple cities in India.

The team curates the network with rigorous checks to have a good quality of service providers. Each service provider goes through a background check, verification of skill-sets and polishing of soft-skills. This network of skilled agents across Mumbai helps time-stressed Mumbaikars outsource their home service requirements in the area of cleaning tasks, handymen jobs, appliances repairs and errands coordination.

For users, booking a service as simple as ordering goods on any e-commerce platforms – choose the task, select the date and time and check out with payments. Users have the choice to book for a service in advance through the platform. Timesaverz then uses its registered algorithms to assign the right service partner to complete the job.

To assure quality service delivery on time, the team tracks every operation live from job request to job completion and feedback gathering through mobility solutions.

Timesaverz is a unique mobile first marketplace that combines 'uberification of services' with a deep understanding of the needs and dynamics of Indian household. The seasoned leadership team of Timesaverz has curated a strong network of service partners and has built a scalable model of service delivery.

Organizing fragmented sectors with ‘Uber’ quality experience is the latest rage globally. ‘At 33% repeat customers month on month and 10x revenue growth trend vis-à-vis’ last year, the business is now poised for a huge growth’ shares Debadutta.

Speaking further, she shares

Over the last 15 months, the Timesaverz team has established a business around organizing a disorganized home services market through mobile technology intervention Not only that, the social impact of this model has seen job creation and supplementary income for individual skilled workers. The current fundraising will be used to expand into other cities and strengthen our mobile-first vision.

Time is a critical factor in everyone’s life and such services are helping users save time and plan ahead wisely. (We bicker about queues but we also miss them sometimes.) . The success of such marketplaces depends on how one seeds them.
