“You carry Mother Earth within you” – 100 quotes and proverbs on Earth Day

Saturday April 22, 2017 , 13 min Read

First kicked off in 1970, Earth Day is now an annual movement of events celebrated on April 22. Events are held around the world calling for increased awareness about our planet and more support for environmental protection.

Issues surrounding global warning are discussed around the world on Earth Day by activists, academics, policymakers, artists, and industry leaders. Having just one day for environmental conservation is not enough, of course, but the momentum of Earth Day can help with annual ‘stocktaking’ of the green movement and the challenges still ahead for each and every one of us. (See also YourStory’s coverage of water conservation, eco startups, prominent environmentalists and eco products.)

Cutting across ages and cultures, the quotes and proverbs in this compilation remind us of the beauty of nature and the crucial role of environmental balance in the growth of the human race. So what are you doing today to make our world a better place?
