UpGrad ties up with SP Jain Management institute, Dell-EMC's Sarv Sarvanan emphasises on going digital
Online higher education company UpGrad tied up with Mumbai-based SP Jain Management and Research Institute to launch a post-graduate programme in Technology Business Management. The programme aims to assist working technology professionals’ transition to managerial positions. Founded by Ronnie Screwvala and Mayank Kumar, UpGrad believes the IT industry is witnessing a significant shift to offering product-oriented solutions as against services-oriented solutions it once pioneered in.

From a rural college to heading a large global company, Sarv Sarvanan has come a long way. In a chat with YourStory, the General Manager and Senior VP at Dell-EMC says he spends his time mentoring startups, and golfing. Touching on a fundamental issue, Sarv says India does not have good engineers in AI and full-stack technology development and that the education system has not kept up with the demand in the industry.

The inability to 'touch and feel' is a grouse for most ecommerce customers and Kautage is trying to solve just that. It facilitates by collaborating with local delivery businesses and takes a customer's cart to them so they can touch, feel and choose the product he or she wants to purchase. Founded in 2017, Kautage claims to be profitable right from the first month of its operations.
