Here is your daily dose of key developments from the technology world of India.
AWS expands partnership with Dr Reddy’s
Amazon Web Services (AWS) has announced that Dr Reddy’s Laboratories Limited (Dr Reddy’s), an Indian multinational pharmaceutical company based in Hyderabad, has selected AWS as its preferred cloud provider to help provide access to affordable and innovative medicines.
As part of the collaboration, the company has migrated its SAP platform entirely onto AWS. By centralising the platform on the world’s leading cloud, Dr Reddy’s will accelerate the development of new healthcare applications, grow its digital platform to help the organisation serve more than 1.5 billion patients by 2030 around the world, and enable healthcare providers to better track the progress of patients.
Since 2019, Dr Reddy’s has been progressively creating and migrating digital applications to AWS to automate the company’s IT infrastructure. With AWS, it aims to reduce application development time by 30%, improve internal operations, accelerate improvements in generic drug manufacturing processes, and drive new areas of innovation.
The company is one of the first AWS customers to run its data centre and disaster recovery workloads now from both the new AWS Asia Pacific (Hyderabad) Region and the AWS Asia Pacific (Mumbai) Region. This enables Dr Reddy’s to ensure the continuity of its services by running applications across multiple highly available data centres in India.

CtrlS Datacentres to set up centre in Thailand
CtrlS Datacenters has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with EECO (Eastern Economic Corridor Office) of Thailand to lease a 10-acre land parcel for 50 years located in Chonburi Province.
The land will be used to build a 150 MW datacenter greenfield data centre campus, and marks CtrlS’ first international market expansion as well as its first hyperscale datacenter in Thailand. CtrlS’ datacenter site at EEC offers proximity to submarine cable landing stations for AAG (Asia-America Gateway) and ADC (Asia Direct Cable) systems, making this data centre a point of connection equipped with submarine and terrestrial cable networks to connect to other data centres and industrial estates.
CtrlS Datacenters Chairman Sridhar Pinnapureddy said, “Through this collaboration, we aim to serve customers’ needs for digital services, both domestic and international. The data centre is designed to meet hyperscalers’ needs in addition to serving high-end IT/computer needs of domestic enterprises.”
