MDisrupt, the US-based healthtech expert marketplace, raised $3 million in a seed funding round led by US and UAE-based Mindshift Capital, along with a tech and healthcare venture capital consortium led by The Venture Collective (TVC) and includes Capita3, 3plus VC, Geek Ventures, The BFM Fund, Zane Venture Fund, Emmeline Ventures and Growth Factory.

According to a press release on Wamda, Cat Middleton of TVC will join MDisrupt's board of directors.

Founded by Ruby Gadelrab in 2020, MDisrupt is a health expert marketplace that facilitates the rapid and responsible development, commercialisation, and scaling of health products. It connects healthcare experts like physicians, lab clinicians, and scientists with innovative digital health companies.

The capital infusion will help the startup expand its client roster and expedite the launch of its expert marketplace platform, providing on-demand access to top clinicians and health experts.

“We are strong believers in improving healthcare through technology and digitalisation. We see the future potential application of MDisrupt for further developing empirical clinical outcomes in the wellness industry, which is just beginning to converge with traditional healthcare,” said Heather Henyon, Founding Partner of Mindshift Capital.

The platform has over 100 companies in its network, including Clear Labs, Thermo Scientific, Artera, Cognito Therapeutics, and Everly Health, among others.

MDisrupt monetises its services through subscriptions, with each expert setting their consultation rates. The startup focuses on three pillars: people, platform, and data, and emphasises the importance of human intelligence in digital health, focusing on top-tier experts to provide input to health solution developers at all stages.

Ruby Gadelrab said, “Mindshift Capital's commitment to healthtech, as demonstrated by their investment thesis and portfolio companies, will be additive to our success globally. We look forward to working with them to collectively improve healthcare outcomes in the US and Mena, which is near and dear to my heart as an Egyptian-American.”
