Simplifying App Development, Pune based Mobile Backend as a Service- Appacitive

Simplifying App Development, Pune based Mobile Backend as a Service- Appacitive

Tuesday February 26, 2013 , 2 min Read

It is estimated that by 2015 mobile app development projects will outnumber native PC projects by a ratio of 4:1. As mobile becomes the first device for many people globally, enterprise as well as consumer apps are on the rise and we’re seeing many startups coming up to enable the app ecosystem.

Pune based Appacitive is one such company that wants to make app development simple. Founded by Nikhil Prasad, Yetesh Tokas and Neil Unadkat, Appacitive has a team of geeks who love solving complex problems along with food and beer (also a reason why they’ve their office in one of the most happening places in Pune - Koregaon Park).

Appacitive provides their client with a scalable backend for their app by simply ‘white boarding’ the client’s model on their visual designer and publish it to the cloud. With Appacitive, app developers can create integration ready services for data and user management, geo-location, email & push notifications, aggregates and much more. Appacitive has open source SDKs for iPhone, android, JS and .NET.

Nikhil and Yetesh are both techies with more than 15 years of cumulative experience and have previously been part of Tavisca Solutions which was co-founded by Nikhil. The Appacitive team currently comprise a team of 12 who’s mandate is to make app development simple. Appacitive offers a free plan for customers who want to try them, but they also have a popular plans they offer at $150 per month as well as an enterprise plan. Currently in beta, Appacitive already has 200 customers signed up for the product most of whom are from the US.

A global product, the competition for Apapcitive also lies from companies in the US like Kinvey, Parse and Stackmob but the market is no where close to realizing its potential. The next step for Appacitive is to focus strongly on integrating their product with all strategic third party partners that support the mobile ecosystem and help them provide a full set of end-to-end features for customers.
