JAY ROBOTIX announces ROBOKID 2013

JAY ROBOTIX the pioneers in multidimensional robotics, has announced ROBOKID 2013, a state level completion across more than 250 schools in Andhra Pradesh. The competition which is aimed at increasing awareness amongst the student community about the field of robotics will be conducted in a unique format which will bring in the concept of ‘Learn to Play, Play to Learn’.The call for registrations for the competition wherein students from 6th to 12th standard can register through their respective schools or individually on the website is now open. Post registrations which are open till 10th May, the students will be entitled to an 8 hour training module free of cost on robotics which will be conducted by JAY ROBOTIX and will learn the basic mechanisms of operating a robot. Registered students will also get a licensed version of ROBOGURU software exclusively developed by JAY ROBOTIX to make learning easier and bring a practical approach to all the science & Math concepts. It is first of its kind robotics software, where you could drag and drop the options into the editor, execute the code and see the movement of robot in the simulator. This same code could be applied to a live robot and it will obey the commands in real time environment.

Founder of JAY ROBOTIX Mr. Sudhir Reddy said that ROBOKID 2013 is one of its kind awareness building competition and we are aiming to give exposure to school students to a relatively new yet interesting field of Robotics. Robotics in India is currently witnessing a surge and hence there are a lot of opportunities in this field which the students will be able to tap in future. The training they receive in the competition will prove to be vital not only for studies but in their all round development as well.

ROBOKID 2013 will enable students to learn about a new subject outside their curriculum and also enhance their general approach to learn science and mathematics concepts in their schools. Moreover it will also bring in a practical approach to learning as they will be able to test their knowledge through the training on a live robot and will get to witness live demonstrations. In the second level of the competition students will be asked to provide algorithm for a complex map according to pre-given samples and instructions. The final round of ROBOKID 2013 will witness the best students battling it out on an open arena on June 5th 2013 at a prominent location in the city wherein the student/ team able to navigate the robot through the arena and the final winner will be declared as the winner according well defined parameters, evaluated by experts.

The registrations for ROBOKID 2013 will close on 10th May 2013. Students can register online individually or in teams of 1 to 4 by providing their school name and other details with a registration fee of RS 850 per student. Prizes worth Rs 1.5 lakh are in store for the student teams that emerge as the winner and runners. Also, schools of winning team will be awarded 7 lakh worth Robotics lab and also the school with maximum nominations will be awarded 7 lakh worth Robotics Lab.
