But when it comes to one of our important investments like car we generally depend on croony mechanics and service centers who charge exorbitantly for problems unknown to us.
Car, which is the second valuable investment after home for middle class folks, is completely dependent on service centers and mechanics. “We don’t find personalized advisors or planner who can give us neutral and independent view about our cars,” says Bhupendra Sawant, CEO & co-founder Carrokay.
Motivated to bridge this gap three engineers – Bhupendra Sawant, Dheeman Kadam and Hemant Patil started Carrokay. Carrokay is an independent consulting boutique which offers personalized car service advisory to every car owner in Pune . Importantly, it doesn’t have service centres and acts as a bridge between you and your car’s service provider and ensure timely and convenient servicing of your car.
The trio have close to 40 years combined experience across consulting in IT, automobile and customer service among others. The platform allows complete turnkey solution where customer, dealerships, vendors connect via online application. Besides this it offers technology backed system for enhancing customer satisfaction across all OEMs.
How it works?
To book appointment car owner need to request appointment from Carrokay. Later the company’s employee pickups the car from individual’s place and prepares online job card before sending it to service station.
Service centres fix the glitch as advised by Carrokay and delivers vehicle to customer’s doorstep. Car owners can foot the bill at the time of delivery and later Carrokay seeks feedback from customer about the service or fix.
“We guarantee to save upto 30% on your servicing bills. For any car related problem right from servicing to general check up , our executive does diagnosis and then prescribed job card based on current state of user’s car,” says Bhupendra. The entire process allows Carrokay to have complete control over servicing bills and can avoid inflated bills from dealers.
As the platform is community driven initiative , Carrokay has alliance with various batteries , tires, accessories , car spa’s etc. Customer can subcribe for Carrokays annual membership plan for Rs.1200 for cars under 1600 cc and Rs.1800 for all other cars. So In nutshell, customers get Rs.5000 worth of various coupons along with yearly membership of Rs.1200 (plux tax).
In terms of traction the startup has over 1,500 subscribers, out of which 70% users preferred annual subscription. “At present we don’t have enough user base as we don’t have deep pockets for marketing and branding efforts to create buzz. We’re making slow and steady progress with adding about 200 customers on monthly basis,” points out Bhupendra.
Currently there are close to three crores four-wheelers in the country and personalized car advisory segment, which according to an industry estimate pegs around Rs.4,200 crore. Out of which Carrokay focuses on Rs500 crore marketsize.
The company will start its operation in Mumbai soon followed by Surat including 10 other cities via franchise model. Apart from this, Carrokay plans to have driving school certification approved by RTOs and cement its position in B2C as well as B2B car segments.
