Twitter takes over TweetDeck

Thursday May 26, 2011 , 2 min Read

All the secrecy has now come to an end. Twitter buys TweekDeck, one of the most sought after third party Twitter applications. Twitter CEO Dick Costolo said .” This acquisition is an important step forward for us”. TweetDeck is so powerful as it reports all the real-time data about very important issues like brands ,publishers, marketers and about a platform in which a person is interested in.

Costolo and TweetDeck CEO Iain Dodsworth had their version made clear that, though Twitter took TweetDeck over; TweetDeck will have the same old team and will work on the constant development thereby uplifting the standards of it. On the whole, it will work independently with some inevitable changes. The acquisition will only increase the possibilities of success and explore new horizons.

The acquisition is estimated to be around $40million though not an official declaration by Twitter. It wasn’t a smooth sail for the #1 micro blogging site in the world to get into an agreement with TweetDeck.UberMedia, which has Twidroyd, Echofon and UberSocial, all under it’s roof was vying for TweetDeck from several months. But, Twitter made sure that none of the external sources should deter it’s progress.

A lot of assurance was offered by Twitter to third party developers to instill confidence in them about the fruitful association with them. TweetDeck is such a great and irresistible application which Twitter couldn’t afford to loose and thus made TweetDeck a part of it now.

For all the fans of TweetDeck, there is nothing to worry. It’s just a change for the better cause!
