Myshaadi.in, an online portal offering host of wedding related services including personalised wedding sites, today announced raising the first round of funding from Indian Angel Network. The investors include active angel investors Rajan Anandnan, Sunil Kalra, Ashim Mehra and Rehan Yar Khan who is joining the board of directors of myshaadi.in.

Founded by Abhishek Jain, Myshaadi.in enables couples to plan wedding events, share invitations, share photographs along with features like budget calculator, shopping list, to do list, etc. The website boasts of an interactive blogging section which is contributed by the industry experts that illuminates couples on latest trends and international concepts of wedding. Launched in February, 2011, the site has served more than 13,000 couples and aims to have over 1 lakh couples by this year end.

Commenting on the investment, India’s active angel investor Rajan Anandan said, “What caught our attention towards Myshaadi.in was that there was hardly any significant and focused player in the matrimony domain who offered a gamut of matrimony services catering to Indian audience. With wedding industry being the fourth largest contributor to India’s GDP, Myshaadi.in is certainly in a very lucrative space. Needless to say there is a huge scalability factor in Myshaadi’s business model.”

Said Abhishek Jain, Founder of Myshaadi.in, “It is indeed a matter of pride to have found support from serial angel investors such as Rehan Yar Khan, Rajan Anandan, Sunil Kalra and Ashim Mehra. Their unparalleled expertise and knowledge will help Myshaadi.in to have a great growth trajectory both in terms of business and human resources while boosting the confidence of our team by leaps and bounds.”

“The fund will help us to strengthen operation and further innovate our suite of services,” he further added.

Services of Myshaadi.in will enable the new generation of internet savvy to-be-married couples a unique opportunity to extend their marriage to an online world.
