Startups With a Cause; A Look at some Social Ventures

Many startups in the Indian startup ecosystem are doing some great work impacting and changing the lives of people in the society. In all the frantic activity, some of these ventures fail to get the attention they thoroughly deserve. We at Yourstory.in, are strong supporters of these initiators and via this post, bring to you some of the social ventures we've covered over the past couple of weeks.To begin with, 360Navigator a great phone based navigation service is Mumbai recently covered by us has won the mBillionth award. Our hearty congratulations to team 360Navigator!

Speaking of navigation and travel, Padhaaro is a newbie startup offering greeter service to foreign tourists visiting India. These are focused on changing the perception about India.

We also have amazing Aseem Foundation, a not for profit organization that has been fostering entrepreneurship in the politically torn state of Kashmir as a means of livelihood and development.

Tana Bana is also a community based enterprise for artisans in the district of Bhagalpur, Bihar. Their focus is to create a self-sustaining community for the artisans of Bhagalpur and Bihar making great products.

As for as great products go, WorkshopQ, a green startup selling fun and colourful eco-friendly products says, “People don’t have to Purchase Our Products to be Eco-Friendly.”

Chandra Dubey is on a mission to help the poor farmers in Madhya Pradesh through Bhushan Agro, an agro-startup that works on a leasing model to increase productivity and yield.
