God’s Own Country Beckons Women Entrepreneurs

On International Women's Day, Friday, 8th March 2013, Startup Village, Kochi will launch an entrepreneurship cell dedicated to women. The Startup Village Women E-Cell will provide virtual incubation services completely free for a period of one year to all women entrepreneurs and to those startups

• which have at least one woman in the founding team. The services provided by the E-Cell include:Mentoring and guidance
• Access to technology
• Special discounts on business services, and
• A platform for meeting potential investors

There will be some focus on entrepreneurs in the technology sector, but the Women Entrepreneurial Cell will also be open to entrepreneurs across all sectors including small businesses, which can leverage technology to take their venture to new heights.

The tentative agenda of the launch event is as follows:

11:11 - Introduction - Sijo Kuruvilla George (CEO - Startup Village)

11:30 - Key Note Address - Shradha Sharma (Founder & Chief Editor - YourStory)

12:00 - Introduction of Microsoft BizSpark program - Rajinish Menon (Director - ISV & Cloud Strategy - Microsoft)

12:30 - Networking Session

13:00 - Conclusion

As part of this initiative, Saarthi, the technology and management consultancy firm, is offering complimentary mentoring to three women entrepreneurs for a period of three months. Startup Village is also assembling few startups who are offering discounted services including branding, photography and website development to assist the entrepreneurs in their ventures.
