Cars24 puts $5 million behind new AI startup Deployment Inc
Cars24 launches AI startup Deployment Inc with a $5 million investment to help enterprises deploy AI systems across real-world business workflows.
Enterprise AI is moving from experimentation to execution. Cars24 has launched Deployment Inc, an independent enterprise AI startup backed by an initial $5 million investment. The new company aims to help businesses turn AI models into reliable systems that can operate inside real-world workflows.
Cars24 will also become Deployment Inc’s first customer, giving the startup a live environment to test and refine its approach.
Turning AI pilots into working systems
Many businesses now have access to advanced AI models. The bigger challenge is putting those models to work reliably across customer service, sales, payments, inspections and internal operations.
Deployment Inc is targeting this gap with a model built around forward-deployed engineers, or FDEs. These engineers work directly with customers to understand a business process, identify where AI can make a measurable difference and integrate the technology into existing systems.
The focus is not simply on deploying an AI model. The startup says each project will begin with a clear business metric, such as reducing costs, improving accuracy, increasing conversion or cutting turnaround times.
Cars24 is the first test case
Deployment Inc has emerged from Cars24’s own experience using AI across its operations. According to Cars24, its AI agents now handle more than one million minutes of customer conversations every month.
The company says service-request turnaround time has fallen from 32 hours to 30 minutes, while vehicle inspection time has been cut by half across more than 100,000 monthly inspections.
Cars24 also says more than 45 AI agents are now used across customer support, sales, financing, inspections, payments and internal operations. The company says its engineering team is producing three times more output.
These results form the basis of Deployment Inc’s approach: businesses need more than access to AI models. They need teams that can integrate those models into everyday operations and measure whether they actually improve performance.
Who is behind the startup
Deployment Inc has been co-founded by Jayesh Gupta and Aayush Gupta. Jayesh Gupta has led AI, scientific research and innovation at Cars24. Aayush Gupta brings experience in AI research and engineering, with previous roles connected to xAI, Zomato, Atlassian and Disney+ Hotstar.
Cars24 founder Vikram Chopra has argued that one of the biggest challenges for enterprises will be turning increasingly capable AI models into systems that employees and customers can depend on. That puts implementation at the centre of the startup’s strategy.
A hands-on model for enterprise AI
Deployment Inc plans to work closely with businesses from the start of each project. Its engineers will first establish a baseline for the existing workflow. They will then build and integrate an AI-powered process, operate it alongside existing systems and track the results over time.
Human oversight will remain part of the process for important decisions, exceptions and escalations. This could be particularly relevant in areas where businesses want the efficiency of AI without giving automated systems complete control.
Hiring and OpenAI partnership
Deployment Inc has been recognised as an OpenAI Select Partner for enterprise deployments. The startup plans to combine OpenAI’s models with its own engineering and implementation capabilities to develop production-ready AI systems.
It is also planning to hire 50 engineers, primarily forward-deployed engineers, alongside professionals in AI strategy and go-to-market roles. Cars24 will serve as “Deployment 001”, while the startup has opened applications for “Deployment 002”.
The launch reflects a wider shift in enterprise AI. As businesses move beyond experiments, the competitive advantage may increasingly come not from simply having access to the latest model, but from knowing how to integrate AI into complex operations and make it deliver measurable results.
