Dashverse swoops in $13M in Series A led by Peak XV Partners
The Bengaluru- and San Francisco-based firm’s newly-launched microdrama app DashReels has garnered over 5 million downloads within a month of launch, it said in a statement.
AI-driven entertainment startup Dashverse has raised $13 million in Series A funding led by Peak XV Partners (formerly Sequoia Capital India & SEA), with participation from existing investors Z47 (formerly Matrix Partners India) and Stellaris Venture Partners.
“We’re entering a new era where content creation is no longer gated by resources, but by imagination,” said Sanidhya Narain, Co-founder and CEO of Dashverse.
“Just as camera phones turned everyone into a creator and unlocked platforms like Instagram and TikTok, generative AI will do the same for storytelling, but with far more powerful formats. This funding fuels our mission to build the creative infrastructure for this shift where mobile-first, serialised content becomes the default, not the exception,” he added.

While the demand for mobile-native episodic formats such as microdramas is surging globally, production has been constrained by high costs, requiring complex tools and studio-level resources, which Dashverse aims to remove with generative AI.
“The creator economy is undergoing a seismic shift driven by generative AI, and Dashverse is at the very heart of this transformation. Their unique approach, combining proprietary AI with a deep understanding of storytelling and creator workflows, sets them apart. We were impressed by the team’s execution, the rapid traction of their consumer apps, and their ambitious vision to build the engine for modern entertainment. We are thrilled to partner with them,” said Abhishek Mohan, Principal at Peak XV.
Founded in 2023 by Sanidhya Narain, Lalith Gudipati, and Soumyadeep Mukherjee, Dashverse first gained traction with Dashtoon, an AI-powered digital comics platform.
It has since expanded into video with Frameo.AI, a generative video studio, and DashReels, creating an integrated platform for producing and distributing serialised mobile-first microdramas.
At present, the company claims its apps have a combined global user base of over 20 million.
