Google expands AI Plus to 35 new countries and territories
The lower priced plan brings Gemini 3 Pro, NotebookLM and 200 GB storage to more users, with US pricing at 7.99 dollars per month.
Google has expanded its lower priced AI subscription, Google AI Plus, to 35 additional countries and territories, including the United States. Announced on 27 January 2026, the rollout makes the plan available wherever Google’s AI plans are offered, widening access to the company’s consumer-facing artificial intelligence tools.
What is Google AI Plus?
AI Plus is the entry tier in Google’s consumer AI line-up. According to the company, it includes access to the Gemini app with the Gemini 3 Pro model, creative features for images and video in tools such as Flow, research and writing assistance in NotebookLM, and integrations across Google apps including Gmail and Docs.
The plan also bundles 200 GB of cloud storage and allows family sharing for up to five members.
Google positions the plan as a way for more users to try its newest AI capabilities at a pocket-friendly price. The push aligns with CEO Sundar Pichai’s broader strategy of weaving AI into everyday consumer workflows, from email and documents to note-taking and media creation.
Pricing and availability
In the United States, Google AI Plus is priced at 7.99 dollars per month. For a limited time, new subscribers can get a 50 percent discount for the first two months. Pricing varies by country. Google said existing Google One Premium 2 TB subscribers in the newly added markets will automatically receive AI Plus benefits in the coming days.
The latest expansion follows earlier launches in select regions last year. With the new markets added on 27 January 2026, Google says AI Plus is now available everywhere its AI plans operate.
How does AI Plus compare with AI Pro and Ultra
AI Plus is the starter option. AI Pro builds on it with higher usage limits across Gemini, video generation and other tools, along with added capabilities in Google Search such as access to the Gemini 3 Pro model for complex queries, Deep Search and agentic features. AI Ultra sits at the top, offering the highest limits and the most advanced features across Google’s AI stack. Users can choose a plan based on the intensity of their usage and the depth of features they need.
What users get out of the box
- Gemini app access with Gemini 3 Pro for everyday reasoning, drafting and coding assistance.
- Creative tools to generate and edit images and videos, including access in Flow, with allowances suited for casual use.
- NotebookLM for research synthesis and drafting, with higher limits than the free tier.
- Workspace integrations so AI assistance can help draft, summarise and edit content in Gmail and Docs.
- 200 GB of cloud storage that works across Google Photos, Drive and Gmail, plus family sharing for up to five members.
Google has not provided localised pricing for every market in this announcement, and rates differ by country. The company recommends that prospective users check plan details in their region before subscribing.
