NxtGen launches India’s first pay‑as‑you‑use AI coding platform
NxtGen has introduced “M for Coding”, an open‑source, pay‑as‑you‑use AI coding platform hosted on its sovereign cloud in India, with claims of faster builds and lower costs for developers and enterprises.
NxtGen Cloud Technologies has unveiled “M for Coding”, described as India’s first pay‑as‑you‑use AI coding platform, allowing developers to pay only for actual usage rather than fixed licences or seats.
A usage‑based model built for speed and cost control
NxtGen said the open‑source platform provides “autopilot” coding assistance to design, test and deploy applications, and has claimed it can reduce development costs by up to 32% and improve build times by nearly 45%.
Instead of per‑user subscriptions, NxtGen has positioned M for Coding as a consumption‑based service with flexible usage credits—aimed at startups, independent developers and enterprises that want to align spend with actual activity.
The platform is hosted entirely on NxtGen’s sovereign AI infrastructure so that data and workloads remain within India’s jurisdiction—an important consideration for regulated sectors such as banking, healthcare and government.
A.S. Rajgopal, NxtGen’s chief executive and managing director, described the launch as part of a drive to “democratise” software creation while maintaining autonomy over data and infrastructure.
NxtGen said it serves more than 1,000 enterprise clients across 12 data centres in India and intends to support over 100,000 developers by 2026.
M for Coding’s pay‑per‑use approach contrasts with the seat‑based plans that dominate AI coding tools today.
