Ola Krutrim debuts ‘Kruti’ AI assistant to book cabs and place food orders
An upgraded version of Krutrim’s earlier public beta chatbot, Kruti supports both voice and text input, retains conversational context, and adjusts tone, length, and language to user preferences.
AI unicorn Ola Krutrim has rolled out Kruti, an agentic AI assistant capable of performing tasks rather than only responding to queries.
The assistant is capable of performing tasks such as booking cabs, ordering food, paying bills, image generation, and research, and is equipped with additional features such as read-aloud responses and personalisation.
An upgraded version of Krutrim’s earlier public beta chatbot, Kruti supports both voice and text input, retains conversational context, and adjusts tone, length, and language to user preferences.
Currently, Kruti supports 13 Indian languages and provides advanced functions, such as image creation and in-depth research, at no cost, the company said in a statement on Thursday.
“Kruti is the first real step towards the future of AI where technology doesn’t just talk back, but actually helps you get things done. We have built Kruti to work the way Indians live: multilingual, mobile-first, and intuitive. It is deeply personal, incredibly capable, and ready to take everyday complexity off your plate. With Kruti, we take a step ahead in building trust, utility, and a truly Indian AI experience for all,” said Bhavish Aggarwal, Founder of Krutrim.
Krutrim claims the assistant can interpret user intent with queries such as "book a cab to the airport” or “order my usual lunch”.
Built on top of Krutrim V2 large language model and other open-source models, Kruti can be integrated with third-party applications to deliver context-aware assistance.
For developers, Ola Krutrim is releasing an embeddable software development kit that handles language-model orchestration, memory management, and tool execution, allowing external platforms to incorporate Kruti’s functions with minimal code.
As of November, the company had disclosed plans to develop India’s first AI silicon chips by 2026, specifically designed to manage complex AI tasks and workloads. This is part of the firm's efforts to strengthen its full-stack AI capabilities, which include foundational models, cloud, and silicon.
It earlier launched Krutrim Cloud with AI and general-purpose capabilities, along with a variety of purpose-built AI services aimed at helping the Indian developer community build affordable technology applications.
Currently, over 25,000 developers are using Krutrim Cloud and 250 billion API calls have been made across products since its launch in early 2024.
