Thinking Machines Lab co-founder Andrew Tulloch joins Meta
The Thinking Machines Lab co-founder has announced his departure and has rejoined Meta, according to multiple reports.
Andrew Tulloch, co-founder of Thinking Machines Lab, has reportedly left the AI startup and joined Meta.
The move was reported by the Wall Street Journal and confirmed in coverage by TechCrunch, which noted a Thinking Machines Lab spokesperson acknowledging Tulloch’s departure.
Tulloch reportedly informed colleagues he is departing Thinking Machines Lab to join Meta. Thinking Machines, led by former OpenAI chief technology officer Mira Murati, has not disclosed further details about the transition or Tulloch’s new remit at Meta.
Tulloch is an Australian-born machine learning specialist known for large-scale AI infrastructure and research work. He previously served at Meta’s AI teams and at OpenAI before co-founding Thinking Machines Lab with Murati earlier this year.
In recent months, Meta has been aggressive in its recruitment in AI, with high-profile outreach to leading researchers across the sector.
