Bangalore-based Insectifii aims to offer an economically and environmentally sustainable solution to two massive problems, the hungry animal feed industry and the ever-growing food waste. They farm the black soldier fly larvae which is a harmless worm that devours all kinds of food waste and converts it into high-quality protein and fats in its body. the larvae are dried, powdered and packed full of nutrients needed by poultry and fish. The food waste in turn, is very rapidly upcycled into high-value nutrients and also produces compost as a byproduct.
