Ankur Didwania, Kaushal Upadhyay & Gaurav Joshi, Founders, Stimulant Communications

It’s no surprise to see a venture touch great heights when the people administering it are three adept entrepreneurs, collaborating for achieving their shared goals. Stimulant Communications, a multimedia production house, is a joint-venture enterprise of Ankur Didwania, Kaushal Upadhyay and Gaurav Joshi, whose impressive academic background and expertise in the field guided them to a journey to success. All three have done their masters in development communication. But while Didwani did his diploma in financial management from Ahmedabad Management Association, Kaushal did his in audio-visual from Gujarat University and Joshi, his animation from BCIT, Canada.

Established recently, this Ahmedabad-based multimedia production house excels in producing world-class documentary films, short films, advertisements, corporate profiles, animation films and architectural walkthroughs. The young entrepreneurs envision devoting individual skills and capabilities for making Stimulant Communications an unmatched leader in the industry. The firm has all the resources required for proving itself a great contributor in the field of multimedia. Encouraged by the success of its initial projects, the firm looks to continue with its streak by undertaking similar other ventures. 


What lays ahead for the enterprise is immense scope, especially since the field is loaded with work with insufficient players. The founders are confident of meeting success also because they cater to clients not only in one segment or from a specific industry, but from sectors that ranges the entire gamut.   


But what makes the company singularly different from similar other enterprises in the industry is its unique and fresh approach. “We are new in the field and therefore have a fresh vision. Our firm focuses more on delivering impeccable and quality services on time than on increasing the number of clients. But it goes without saying that quality services eventually leads to securing more clients,” said Didwani. 


Ask how they plan to scale-up their business and Upadhyay says, “We will try not only to achieve our targets but exceed them. This besides, we also have our marketing and expansion plans in place. We will try to get relevant projects and carve a niche in the market.”


Such brilliant minds would have been an asset to any company, but the trio knew better than to succumb to a 9-5 job. “We have skills that we know can be used judiciously and for better work. Besides, the thought of managing our own business was very luring. There’s more experience to gain when one starts on its own than while working on dictated terms,” said Joshi.  


As for the biggest challenge, it was when the trio had to struggle to establish the firm from zero-capital position to a respectable one, which they are very close to achieving. It’s patience, confidence and perseverance, as they say, that keeps them going. But the greatest motivational factor has been their latest achievement. Stimulant Communications recently completed its first project, a ‘Life Sketch’ on renowned Gujarati artistes like Darshan Jariwala, Swaroop Sampat, Apara Mehta, Jankhna Desai and Shobhna Desai. Interestingly, for this project, which was commissioned by the government of Gujarat, the young entrepreneurs worked with such Bollywood biggies like Ashutosh Gowarikar, Paresh Raval, Satish Shah and Rajkumar Santoshi. The trio have also been interviewed by DNA newspaper for their success story.
