COINDIA will offer business incubation services to MSMEs

Coimbatore Industrial Infrastructure Association (COINDIA) and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Development Institute will offer business incubation services to MSMEs here.
As per COINDIA President G. Rajendran the association already had infrastructure for design and prototype development and modern tool room. The association had identified 10 projects for support now and written to the office of the Deputy Commissioner for MSMEs, New Delhi, for assistance. “Any new idea or development of innovative product can be supported for development of design and technology,” he said. Some of the broad areas identified for support were design innovations, quality and process control, automobile components, electrical appliances, process pumps, energy efficient motors with unconventional design, neo-classical model wet grinders, metal utensils, modern agricultural implement, engineering manufacturing, aero space industries and special purpose machinery. Successful entrepreneurs here would act as mentors for these projects.About 40 per cent of the country’s exports and 44 per cent of manufacturing turnover were from MSMEs. These units should get support for innovative ideas and entrepreneurial development. Hence, COINDIA decided to offer incubation services in association with the MSME Development Institute.
