Microsoft Bizspark Camp : Exclusive coverage

Microsoft Bizspark, which supports startups and the entrepreneurial community, celebrated its first year in India at Hotel Royal Orchid, Bangalore. The event saw many start ups interact with representatives from Microsoft and some very interesting sessions. Of course YourStory was there not only because we are the channel partner for Microsoft Bizspark but this event also saw the official unveiling of “Top 20 Product Technology start up Ventures to Watch out for in 2010” program that we are conducting with the help of Microsoft Bizspark.

Followed by the registration and the welcome note the attendees were briefed about Azure from Microsoft by Sachin Vinod Rashi , Architect Advisor , Microsoft. He talked about how Azure was a unique “platform as a service” program. Some of the advantages of Azure include federated data centers all over the globe, it being on demand and scalable. He also spoke how Azure makes good business sense for startups by reducing costs on infrastructure. After this session there was a demo of the use of Azure by a startup by Nageshwar Rao of Real eT Matrix Pvt Ltd.

This session was followed by a very interesting talk on “Importance of design in software/websites” by Apala Lahiri Chavan of Human Factors International. She stressed on the importance design plays in making or breaking your product or website. After this Matthew Clark, Senior Director, Startup Engagement for the Strategic and Emerging Business Team (SEBT) spoke about Microsoft BizSpark One , a unique customized program for select companies to partner with Microsoft.

The session on “Architecture Tips and Tricks” by Microsoft Technology Center, Bangalore had all the technology enthusiasts craving for more. All of these sessions were made come alive by the active interaction from the audience.
